Agreed! In my market, lakefront real estate is king and most people that want to sell their lake property will take it off the market during the winter months. Inquiries and my site traffic spikes after the holidays are over. The lake homes on the market grab more eyeballs because of the drop in inventory as there are a boat load of expired listings on Jan. 1. Because of this “take it off & wait until spring psychology”, it is a great time if you are a buyer looking for a lake home and know the shoreline or have trust in someone like me. It isn’t true for every active lake listing but most of the lake properties still on the market are owned by sellers that are likely to be more negotiable now than this spring.
So True! Time is money and if people sit on the sidelines and watch time go by~ they will be sorry!
We are certainly experiencing this in Atlanta. Inventory is low and demand is high which is resulting in multiple offers, quick sales and slight appreciation.
Very true here in metro-Atlanta. Houses that are staged and priced well sell quickly (less than 2 weeks), often with multiple offers. It’s a great time to sell!
I just came across this blogpost today, 3/3/13. Best reason to list today: list and close before the ripple effect of the new payroll tax burden, which will have a definite negative impact on everything…
